Pc With No Internet Connection

I have a Kindle version 3.2.  I live in an area without Wi-Fi, so I download ebooks to my computer and then transfer them to Kindle via USB.  That works fine.  I have another PC that is not connected to the internet and I would like to read on it.  I downloaded the PC app and installed it on the PC that is not connected to the internet.  It came with 3 books already installed, and they read just as they should, but I cannot get books I have downloaded individually from Amazon to show up in the app.  The Amazon rep tells me it is impossible to read those books without an internet connection.  BUT I can read them on my Kindle which is not connected to anything.  So why can't I read them on the PC app that is not connected to the internet?  Is there a way I can read them there despite what the Amazon rep has told me?

I discovered the answer for myself!!  It is really simple, and contradicts what I was told by the Amazon rep.  Here it is.  When Amazon downloads an ebook to the PC app on my connected computer, it places 2 files in a subfolder named My Kindle Content, which was created in My Documents.  If those files are copied to the same folder on the unconnected computer, the book can be read on the PC app which is on the unconnected computer.  These files have code names rather than simple English titles, so it is helpful to have the "My Kindle Content" folder open while a book is being downloaded from Amazon.  That way you can see which 2 files are added.
