Wi-fi Connection

I cannot remember my password for my wi-fi router which I no longer have.  How can I connect my kindle with Amazon.com without using the router and just through my modem?

On the Kindles, you must have a wireless router or access point in order for it to connect to the internet. There is not way to connect to the DSL or Cable modem unless it has wireless built-in. If you do not know this, your Internet Service Provider should tell you if your modem is equipped with Wi-Fi.
