Tv Will Not Come On And Has No Picture!

I got this tv from a friend about a month back and never tried to power the tv on till today. I plugged the tv in and pushed the power on button and it made a clicking noise and a tiny flash in the middle of the screen but no picture or sound. Please help me find out what's wrong with my tv. I don't have a remote for it either and my friend does not have the receipt or warranty on it anymore. Thanks so much
