Closed Captioning Does Not Work
The closed captioning and parental controls menu selections under settings are greyed out and the CCD button on the remote does not function. My tv in the other room has closed captioning worki g just fine. I have att cable.Rick

- If your Closed Caption option is grayed out on your TV, it is likely that you are using HDMI as your connection type. Currently, Closed Caption Display (CCD) is not supported by HDMI, so there is no way for your TV to control the CCD signal that is being broadcast from your cable or satellite box, which is why it is greyed out. This means that you will need to control the CCD option on your cable or satellite box, as it is this device that is broadcasting the service. Please refer to your user's manual for your cable or satellite box for steps to do this.
- In this case, the CC is only available while using the TV input, that means when connecting the cable directly to the TV. If you are using an HDMI, the tuner being used is the cable box one, and the TV just acts like a monitor that shows the signal being sent (that has already being tuned and processed). So, if you use such an input certain features that depend on TV processing the signal, such as CC and P-lock, will have to be setup or selected on the box's end no matter how you setup your TV.
