I Have A Howling Noise Coming From The Rear End Of My 2007 Hyundai Tucson.

The noise is intermittent. It stops when I tap the brakes, but comes back soon thereafter. Any ideas?

2 things here.

First you need to drive it again, get it up to speed until the howl starts, then coast it to a stop, do not brake too hard. Now get out of your vehicle and feel the rim. If the Rim is HOT to the touch, you have a serious braking issue. Pull the tire off and check your pads for wear. You should also remove the hub and check the parking brake for excessive wear and dust buildup. I had the same issue, almost burned my vehicle to the ground.
