- Debris or obstruction: Inspect the blade and the area around it for any debris, such as grass clippings, sticks, or other objects that may be obstructing the blade's movement. Remove any debris carefully and ensure that the blade path is clear.
- Bent or damaged blade: Examine the blade for any signs of bending, damage, or excessive wear. A bent or damaged blade can cause it to bind or not spin freely. If the blade is bent or damaged, it should be replaced with a new one following the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Loose or damaged blade adapter: Check the blade adapter, which connects the blade to the engine shaft. Ensure that it is securely tightened and properly aligned. If the blade adapter is damaged or worn, it should be replaced.
- Worn or seized bearings: The blade's movement relies on the bearings in the blade spindle assembly. Over time, these bearings can wear out or become seized, causing the blade to not turn freely. If the bearings are worn or seized, they should be replaced.
- Drive belt tension: Check the tension of the drive belt that connects the engine to the blade. A loose or improperly tensioned drive belt can cause the blade to not spin freely. Consult the mower's manual for instructions on how to adjust the drive belt tension properly.
- Mechanical issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a more significant mechanical problem with the mower, such as a damaged or misaligned pulley, a worn engine clutch, or an issue with the transmission. In such cases, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician or contact Husqvarna's customer support for further assistance.
Always prioritize safety when working on or near the blade. Ensure the mower is turned off, and the spark plug wire is disconnected before attempting any maintenance or repairs.
