Replace Battery

I just got home from vacation and the Honeywell ct3455 said replace battery.  I did that with new batteries that work and the replace battery light Wont go away. the fan comes on in on position only and then stops when put to auto.  The air from on position is not cool.  Any suggestions ?

From the manual Troubleshooting Guide on page 30:

Set the system switch to OFF. Remove batteries. Insert backward for at least five seconds to reset thermostat. Replace batteries correctly. Display should come on.

Had to wait a wait and then the dispay came back on!
