How Do I Remove The Stand From The Back Of A Hp W220h Monitor?

I purchased a 3 monitor desk stand and want to attach my 3 - HP w2207h monitors to it using the 4 attachment bolt holes on the rear of each monitor.The original base plate is attached to the rear of the monitor with a silver plate that is secured to the monitor with a circular ring of unknown type.How do I remove this plate and the base plate properly?If email is not possible Thank you,Gary Coole
