My Psc 2170 Is Printing Very Slowly

My psc2170 is printing very slowly-only one line every few minutes. I've re-installed the software from the original disc but hasn't helped. I'm not sure what the problem may be. In the past I had a virus that attached to the software and removed it successfully. I can't find the answer with the troubleshooter provided by HP Support website. HELP! I like the printer/features and it has provided excellent service.
