Unable To Instal Hp 3050 Pcl 6 Network Printer On Windows 7 Home Basic

In our organisation, we are using an HP Laserjet PCL 6 printer which is connected to a Windows XP system. In our work group there are about 10 systems which can access this printer. We bought a new Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 Home basic. We tried to instal the printer using add printer option. The system is detecting the printer and it is asking for som e .Inf file. We tried to instal the printer through local port and found that this printer driver is not listed in Windows update. HP Laserjet 3050 PCL 5 is listed but not PCL6. Kindly help us to install the correct printer driver.

Hi, Windows 7 uses a different print driver than Windows XP. In order to add this printer, you'll need to download the Windows 7 driver for it, which you can find here:

Just select your operating system and then choose either the full software suite or the basic drivers, and then download the software and unzip it if necessary. That .INF file that Windows was looking for will be found in the folder where you put this driver.
