My Gateway Dx4200 Desktop Will Not Wake Up
How to wake up my gateway DX4200 desktop?

I've had that happen to some of my computers. Dell seems to be the worst for me. What I do, if restarting doesn't help, is to completely unplug it for at least thirty seconds and then plugging it back in. It refreshes the memory and allows the OS to refresh, I guess. I've found that leaving your pc on all the time isn't always the best bet. Not only does sleep mode suck up large amounts of unneeded wasted energy, but it seems to make the internal components wear out faster. Instead, I would just power it down when you're not using it, if I were you. Hope this helps!

Try tapping the F8 key while booting the computer, you will get the start up menu, choose safe mode, when you log on, go to the display settings, that is right click on the desktop, properties, screen saver, advanced and make sure that hibernation is off, along with turn off disks or whatever , probably see turn off monitor after XX minutes, I make ours 15 minutes (150 computers and servers), I don't let the disks turn off. Choose always on also, not home/office. Try this and see if these settings help.
