Epson 4490 Printing Dark

My Epson 4490 scanner (about 20 years old) suddenly is printing very dark images. I have adjusted the brightness, tried a couple settings. It comes out the same. It seems the light is too dim. What shall I do?

Does the image look OK on the screen? If so it is a printer issue. If the image is dark on the screen from the scan then check the correction settings. The colour profile needs to match the printer profile to obtain the correct image.
