Now dishwashwer door won't latch, and pressing START doesn't work, and the other buttons also don't respond.   However, when holding START and one other button (e.g., START + DELAY causes the AUTO and QUICK buttons to light up.)

Hi agiftagain - You may try to reset the dishwasher by disconnecting the power to the unit. This will clear most flashing lights. You can disconnect power by flipping the circuit house breaker off and back on for 30 seconds. If this proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately. Dishwasher may possibly being experiencing a communication issue with the control panel, wiring failure or faulty door latch which would need further diagnosing.
