Vostro 1710 Problems With Windows 7

Hi everyone. I recently updated my Vostro 1710 to Windows 7 and everything is working fine except that now and then the computer just shuts down by itself. The Dell representative says that this laptop is not designed to run Win7 and I should downgrade to Vista. Any suggestions?

if your operating system is piarated when you update the win then same problems occur as described by you so donot update the win
