Installed New Memory In My Dell D530 But It's Not Recognized

I removed the 2 GB memory (2 - 1 MG memory cards) in my Dell D530 and replaced it with 4 GB memory (2 - 2 GB cards). When I power up my Dell computer it is still showing 2 GB memory available. How do I get it to recognize that I now have 4 GB of memory available?
