You can reset your harddrive using the Operating system disk for Dell N5030. Insert the disk, and restart the laptop, click on F12 to select the booting device which is the CD. Allow it run, select your location and time, from there it will ask you to select the options of installing a new operating system, reset your existing operating. select reset your operating sytem and choose a convinient time and date. This will take your hard drive back to that  particular date after you restart your system with all the information on your hard drive still intact.

The N5030 is not the easiest thing to get open.  Remove the battery.  To reach the hard disk you need to remove every screw in the back panel.  I think the toal is 15.  There are two different lengths, the two short screws only fit in one place.  Once this is done lift the top from the bottom half leading with the edge facing the user.  You can see the hard disk easily without needing to remove the keyboard.  push the disk back home and re-insert the screws holding it still (the short ones from earlier).  Easy.
