Dark Screen

computer turns on but screen is barely visible - what do I do to fix ?

If the picture is partially visible, often it is only the laptop's brightness that is set low, or a power setting is decreasing the brightness. Make sure your laptop is not in a power saving setting by plugging the laptop into the wall. Next, try increasing the brightness on your laptop to verify it is not the brightness causing your issue. Most laptops adjust their brightness settings using the function key in conjunction with another key. For example, pressing and holding the function key (abbreviated as "Fn") and pressing the up or down arrow keys may increase or decrease the screen brightness. The key combined with Fn to adjust brightness will vary from computer to computer, but the symbol (usually looks like a sun with an up or down arrow next to it)
