With the standard power supply is not the same, but this does not affect the use, do not worry what the heart.

May be greater than the rated power adapter laptop power ratings, and it was just a large point of the game to be run to meet it when consumed.

If it runs on ac adapter with out battery then it's usually not the charger.

Many older batteries start loosing their ability to hold charge.

this causes the charger to sense full charge when not full.

usually after the battery life gets down to 30 minutes you see this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1] disconnect ac adapter reome battery and then hold down power button for five count= hard reset- this may sometimes give a temporary repreive to battery replacement.

2] Driver glitch may cause the problem- try uninstalling the battery services in the device manager. then right click and scan for changes to reinstall battery controls.  Many times these are temorary fixes at most and it's probably time to look for a nwew battery.

=========================================

In some cases it is user rough and they have broken loose the charge port from the mother board or the cable in the charger. try someone elses charger to check the charge port and a simple volt meter to check the charger.
