Do I Need To Reset And How?

The 4th time I use this mixer it stopped working.I played around with it using different attachments and speeds and nothing happened. It finally came back on but it wouldn't go off when I wanted to without me unplugging it from the wall. The digital display flashes erratically and isn't numbers. Still it won't come on. my mom bought this from a store that was going out of business so I have no receipt and feel screwed over. Not only did i only use it only 4 times it was purchased 2 months before this happened. It looks like cuisinart would stand behind their products. What's the problem? What can i do?
