Scanning From Mf4570d Connected To Network

I have a Canon imageCLASS MF4570dn printer, which is connected to the company network. I supplied an IP address, subnet mask, and gateway to it. It used to be installed to the USB port of a computer at first, but since that computer has encountered problems, we decided to hook it straight up to the network.I can print to the printer, but I canno scan anything. It tells me, when using MF Toolbox, that is has a problem communicating with the scanner.I would assume that the scanning would recognize the fact that the printer is connected theough a network port.I have been looking online for a solution, but have found none. I was once told by a local Canon-affiliated technician that there's a special network version of Scangear, or something like that?Could you please help me on the right track? We really need this up and running, or else we will have to get rid of the machine.Any help would be more than welcome!
