What Is The Use Of 'filter Image Display' At The Back Of The Camera Canon Sx50hs

It is found at the upper of the small wheel at the back of the camera. I try to get some information but they don't say whether it is used in tandem with one of the modes or anything. Please give some explanation also how to use it. Many thanks

I just found this on a different canon product user manual.

To find images on a memory card full of images, you can filter image display, restricting display to images matching a specific filter.

If my answer has helped you, you can help me a lot by selecting the "Acceptable Solution" button.
