Hi, sometimes cameras' lenses can have some dirt inside interfering with the lens extension mechanism or sometimes the lens is stuckbecause of a fall or similar. There is something you cantry, and it usually work finehalf of the times, unless there is a worse problem due to the age and mechanical wearing of the camera Try to see if there is any dust or dirt slightly blocking the lens. Try cleaning the holes (crevicesbetween the different circular elements) betweenthe lens and the body withcanned air. Face the camera down so that gravity will help dirt going out and/or not going back in. Try plugging the camera via the audio/video (AV) cable into a computer or other USB power source. This might provide just enough of an extra boost of power to override any particulates that might be trapped within the lens mechanism. If that does not solve the problem, place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to auto focus while the lens is extending, hopefullyseating the lens barrel guide pins back into their slots. Thank you!
