Where Is The Serial Number On The Canon Mx892
Where is the serial number on the Canon MX892. I need it to register and can't find it.

Look for a sticker on the back of the printer near the plugs that will have the brand name, model no., serial no. and some other fine print (or if not there, maybe on the underside or some other part of the exterior that is not in plain sight). In place of the normal serial number there may be a bar code, with a series of numbers along the bottom.
If that doesn't help, you could try contacting Canon support at 1-800-OK-CANON, or www.usa.canon.com/support,, and they could probably tell you where to find it.

You won't believe this. It is located on the runner that the ink cartridges use to go back and forth. Just open up the cover as if your are going to change the cartridges. Once the cartridges quit going back and forth you should be able to see it. You may need a flashlight though. Here's a picture.

The serial number of the MX892 is located inside the printer, therefore to find it, follow the steps below:
(1) With the printer powered on, open the Paper Output Tray that's in the Front of the printer.
(2) Lift the Scanning Unit (Cover).
(3) Wait until the print head carriage moves to the ink tank replacement position. To the right of the print head carriage, inside the printer, is a white sticker that is attached to a metal plate. The serial number is located on the white sticker. The serial number starts with four letters and ends with five numbers, for example: ABCD01234.
