There is usually (Not always) an error number with the message to assist with locating, and fixing, the issue.
The following link provides some steps to perform torwards fixing your printer's issue.

Once there scroll down to the error related to your issue located at the lower half of the page (Almost to the end) and you will see the subheading titled:
****Printer error has occurred. Turn off power then back on again. If problem persists, see the manual
This is where you should begin troubleshooting from for a possible solution. However, if you can not clear the error you may need to have the device serviced or possibly purchase another if not under warranty.
Please note: I highly recommend you completely read through the possible reasons/solution before beginning to perform these steps.

If it still doesn't work, try unplugging the printer, waiting 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
You probably also need to clear the print queue.
