How Do I Connect Air Printer From My Ipad To New Canon Printer - Pixma Mg3522 ?

Follow the instructions here to set up your printer on your iPad.

This was a real pain, and none of the support documents outline the steps adequately. Some of these steps may be redundant or unnecessary, but it got the printer set up for me:

1-Connect the Canon Pixma MG3522 to your Mac with a printer-to-USB cable.

2-Use your Mac to download set-up software *and* the firmware update to version 1.0.5 from the Canon site at canoncanada.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/47281/~/firmware-notice%3A-pixma-mg3520-%26-mg3522-does-not-turn-on-in-some-instances.

3-Install and run the set-up software on your Mac according to the cable connection directions in the link above. Then, install the firmware update on your Mac.

4-Now run the set-up software again, this time using a wireless connection.

5-Open the Pixma Printing Solutions app on your iPad and select "Detect printer." It was at this point that I *finally* successfully paired my iPad with the printer.

6-Next, just to make sure everything is current before unplugging the USB from my Mac, I accessed Printer Status from within the Pixma Printing Solutions app on my iPad--which launched a web page--and selected Firmware Update from the left-hand menu. The update takes about 20 minutes and cannot be interrupted. I will never buy another Canon printer again, simply because the documentation and support are so crappy. If I wasn't so stubborn and lazy, I would have simply returned this printer.
