How In The World Do I Open The Printer To Insert Ink Cartridges?

Unfortunately, Help Owl has slotted your question as pertaining to the EOS 40D camera, although your product is obviously a printer and not a camera. I'm sorry, but the good news is that you will almost certainly find the answer quickly as follows.

Go to http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer, and enter the model name or number in the search box. On the resulting page click "replace cartidges," and then in the search box type "scan to email." Finally, on the page that comes up, link to the article that best pertains to your issue.
