Is the printer drum covered under the warenty on a MFC-8680?

Not really because its a consumable. You might get lucky if it brand new and doesnt look worn. Over time the drums surface wears and other things start showing the signs if it looks new and you have an invoice you could always try. I believe it 60 or 90 days on the drum if its a brand new machine.
