How To Reset Admin Password Hl2270dw Laser Printer.

Originally, the default 'admin' password is 'access'. But since then the password was changed to something now forgotten. I can still login as 'user', but not 'admin'.I hope I do not have to choose some factory reset function, as I expect that would work, at the cost of losing any configuration/settings in the printer - not the least of which are the wifi credentials.Can anyone help?

Unfortunately, resetting the admin password on a Brother HL-2270DW laser printer can be tricky, and there isn't a universal solution. The method depends on several factors, including:

1. When the password was set:

Before 2020: If you set the password before 2020, there might be a default password printed on a label on the back of the printer. Look for a label with "pwd" followed by an 8-character alphanumeric code. If you find it, try that code. Otherwise, the default password might be "init pass" or "access".

After 2020: If you set the password after 2020, there's no default password, and you'll need to resort to other methods.

2. Printer connection:

USB connected: If your printer is connected to your computer via USB, you can try using the Brother Printer Management tool. It might allow you to change the password if you know the current one.

Network connected: If your printer is connected to your network, you can try accessing the web interface and resetting the password there. However, this might require knowing the current password or accessing a hidden menu.
