Why Can We Not Receive Any Help At All?

After a 2 month hospital stay and mulitple Dr. visits and out of state stays, for health issues with our son, we contacted B.O.A. for a forbearance on our home loan for one month, to get caught up. Why is this such an issue, when we cannot help what has happened? Why does B.O.A. make it impossible for my wife and i to try and make a valid attempt to try and keep our house, while thousands of others just choose to walk away? Why what is so hard about aloowing this for one month, to not only get back on track, but also allow us to feed our family?
