My Home Loan

why is it i have a home loan with you and have applied for a loan modification, i received letter 7/8 stating you received my correspondence and i would receive notification within 20 days, i rec letter 7/18 stating my request had been forwarded to appropiate department for further research. ispent 2hours tuesday 9/6 and 1.5 hours today 9/8 and no one can tell me the status of my application yet. iam 64 years old,my house payment got behind when my husband got sick, we applied for a loan modification and were denied on may 3rd because of some documents they said i did not send back while my husband was in hospital that i never received. i called to explain they told me i could re-apply after 1 month, i re-applied in july after my husband died on june 20th and i am struggling to make my payments. i do not understand why the company i have my loan with <you> will not help me get my payments reduced so i can remain in my home and my loan balance is less than 31,000. and is valued over 100,000.00. Would someone with some authority please respond?
