Credit Run?

I have a current balance of $2.59 in my checking account and $0.00 in my savings but I just deposited a check in today (Saturday) I know that it won't show on my account until the next business day. My question is if I make a purchase can I run it as credit while the check is still pending even if I have overdraft protection?
