the box should tell you the type of ram you have pc3200 or whatever. if not look on the acer website and make sure your laptop can support that much ram.
On the back you have to take of the screws that have a small picture of a Memory chip next to it, and pop off the small lid to reveal the Memory Bank. You may want to use a really thin flat head to pry the cover off
