Memory Installation
I installed two 2gig sticks of ram for a total of 4gigs but it only shows 2gigs and says I'm low on memory

Are you sure the RAM you installed is the right kind? Also, never mix two different types or brands because it likely won't work properly. You can get information about the RAM you need here.

Make sure both ram memory frequency are same.If it's not same then you face incompatibility between RAM.
Also go to bios settings when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del key to enter in bios then check RAM memory clock pulse.then load ptimal defaults settings make sure both dimm module socket on motherboard are working fine.
