My Cd/dvd Rom Driver

i have an acer aspire and my cd/dvd rom will not be detected if i insert a disc on it, what should i do?

CD/DVD ROM drives does not actually need a driver software installed to work properly. These are plug and play devices which can run without the driver. I believe this is a hardware related issue that needs to be checked by a computer expert or service center.
