How can i reset password of 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 3824 24-port

You forget the password for the "admin" user account and can no longer perform important management operations. Use the password recovery method outlined below to define a new password for the "admin" user account:

  1. Access the Command Line Interface from the console port and enter the user name "recover" and password "recover" to place the Switch in password recovery mode. The Switch remains in password recovery mode for a maximum of 30 seconds, before it returns to the CLI login prompt.

You must use the console port to recover the passsword. If you attempt the recovery method using the network, the password will be rejected.
  2. Perform a hard reset on the Switch whilst it is in password recovery mode by switching it off, waiting a few seconds, and switching it on again.

You cannot use a soft reset operation to reset the password of the "admin" user account. This will end the password recovery procedure and return you to the CLI login prompt.
  3. When the Switch has rebooted following the hard reset enter a new password for the "admin" user account.

If you have forgotten the default username and password for your 3Com 3824 switch, you can reset it to factory defaults. To do this, follow these steps:

Power off the switch.

Unplug the power cord from the switch.

Wait for 5 seconds.

Plug the power cord back into the switch.

Press and hold the Reset button on the front of the switch for 10 seconds.

The switch will reboot and the default username and password will be restored.

The default username for the 3Com 3824 switch is admin and the default password is admin.

If you have changed the default username and password and you have forgotten them, you will need to contact 3Com customer support for assistance.

Here are some additional tips for resetting your 3Com 3824 switch:

Make sure that the switch is turned off before you start the reset process.

If you are using a surge protector, make sure that it is turned off before you start the reset process.

If the reset process does not work, try restarting your switch.

If you are still having problems with your switch after resetting it, you may need to contact 3Com customer support for assistance.

If you have forgotten the default username and password for your 3Com Switch 3824, you can try the following steps to reset the device and regain access:

1. Locate the reset button on the switch. It is usually a small pinhole button on the front or back panel of the device.

2. With the switch powered on, use a paperclip or a similar tool to press and hold the reset button for about 10-15 seconds.

3. Release the reset button after the specified time, and the switch will reboot.

4. Wait for the switch to finish the reboot process. This may take a few minutes.

5. Once the switch has restarted, the username and password should be reset to the default factory settings. The default username is typically "admin," and the default password is usually blank (no password).

6. You can then log in to the switch using the default credentials. Please note that this procedure will reset all settings on the switch to their factory defaults, so any configurations you have made will be lost. Make sure to back up any important data or configurations before performing the reset.

I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.
