For $60... worth it!
I snatched up this unit at Target when I saw its CD and cassette player features and a price point *under* most boom boxes these days. There are no or bass or treble controls. The unit has an audio-in jack and a headphone out jack. I can't determine the wattage of the amplifier (even from the back of the unit itself)! The speakers are small but will fill a small to medium-sized room with a "fairly loud"/"loud enough", non-distorting sound. Placing the speakers on a carpeted floor, near walls raises the bass levels to a satisfactory degree. The tonal range (sound quality) of CDs sound better than cassettes do in this unit. CDs sound "pretty darn good" and cassettes sound "satisfactory / acceptable". I recommend this unit to you (for what it is)!

Brand new. CD player does not work
This was a much-anticipated gift. It's very disappointing that it doesn't work. The radio and tape player are fine, but this was purchased to play CDs---and it doesn't.
