An excellent printer and scanner.... at times.
I bought this initially back in 2007, still have it today. I opted for the RAM upgrade (Not sure what I'd do with 2.0GB RAM on a printer in 2007... but it's my way. As well as the duplexer-essential upgrade, and also the multi-protocol card to enable wireless printing.PROS:
Very fast on color copies and prints.
Very fast scanner, and has an ADF-I think it will handle up to 100 pages at a time (one feeding).
Good quality printing
Good price on toner-but best if you buy through Quill.com in my experience (they sell both dell and brand x for this).
CONS:
Pain in the butt to set up-at least on wireless.
Interface could be better organized (especially on wireless)
Scanner is very twitchy on wireless-ie some days no problem, other days you have to override errors 10-50 times before it will take the scan. Think it takes about 4 years for it to develop this attitude though.
If you see one for a good deal, it would be worth considering.
