The Unsuccessful Processor Upgrade Problem

Hi I have the emachines ET1331G-03w. It has the AMD Athlon II X2 processor. I tried to upgrade to the AMD phenom II X6 1055t processor and the pc did not recognize the new processor correctly. System info and bench mark tests said it was a AMD Opteron with 1 core and the base score dropped from 5.9 to 1.9 making it extremely slower. I want to know what's the problem and what processor upgrade is possible with my model? Thanks for your time,ES

This board uses a nForce430/GeForce6100 chipset onboard graphics are a GeForce 6150SE onboard audio is a realtek 5.1 HD Audio onboard network is Realtek as well the maximum cpu support is technicly 125w dual Core Athlon X2 but the mosfets are really only suitible for up to 89w cpus so anythign like a 4200+ 4600+ or a 5400+ should work just fine in it. I know for a fact a dual core 2.2GHz Athlon x2 4200+ works in this machine as I've used one in mine.
