Can You Really Make Money As An Affiliate

I have been trying for a while now to be an ebay affiliate , i tried promoting posts on facebook (and then i got banned for some reason)and i tried running ads on googleI never managed to make a single saleIs someone on this forums able to make money on ebay this days or is the market too saturated ?
