Why Is My Yahoo Mail Locked Out, And Why Doesn't It Ask The Security Question

says my password or yahoo id is wrong, but they have been the same forever...refuses to ask me the security question, and instead just says contact customer service (something about beliving the account had been comprimised)

I've read this from another person, that after a few tries, yahoo will lock you out for 12hours before you can try again. They also said this.

- The securty question is said only to appear when you login from a computer that is not recognised by Yahoo mail.

You might end up needing to email them to fix this.

Hello bushwackerpride,

If you saw a message that your account is locked you will need to do one of the folowing to access your account again:

Wait the 12 hours for the lock to be lifted. (Any log in attempt made prior to the end of 12 hours will reset the lock for 12 hours again) Then access the Yahoo Account Recovery Wizard to reset your password, which is where you will be asked to answer your security question.
