F22 Error On Clean Washer Cycle

WFC7500VW - Front-Load Washer. When I put the washer on the Clean Washer cycle it spins for a few seconds and the F22 error flashes. I have read that this is a problem with the door lock. This error ONLY occurs when I use the Clean Washer cycle and not any of the other cycles. If it was a problem with the lock wouldn't it flash the F22 error on all cycles? What seems to be the problem?

The lock may continue to lock and unlock. It will continue to work until it completely fails and will either not allow you to start a load or locks your wet clothes inside the washer. The contacts inside the lock that sends a signal to the control board that the door is locked and ok to ramp up the spin speed are failing. Replace the door lock, this is a common problem.
