How To Remove Glass From Freezer Shelf For Cleaning Or Replacement?

I need to clean the food grime that has flowed between the plastic frame and glass of the freezer shelf.  What is the best way to remove the glass to be cleaned?  There appear to be some kind of plastic "springs" but I'm not sure how to use them.
