Knob

Hi, i have model # gy397lxus and i have to hold down one of the knobs to get the surface element to work.

It is normal to have to push in the knob before it will work. If this is not your issue, a burner port may be clogged. See Sealed Surface Burners at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/511784/Whirlpool-Gw399lxub05.html?page=6#manual.
