Gi15ndxtq1 Whirlpool Ice Maker.

I recently had to change the recirc. pump. Now, the ice maker forms ice on the platten but then never advances to the next step. The pump is still running with no water in the water bin. Does the Motor sensor see a low level in the water bin and that triggers the unit to the next step or is there something else that tells the machine ice has formed?
