Dryer Has Inconsistent Heat

I hope you can give me some help. The Whirlpool EED4400WQ dryer has worked well up until recently. Sometimes the dryer will get up to temperature and for most of the times it does not. No heat at all when it doesn't work properly. Very inconsistent and unpredictable. Can you please give me a reason this happens so I can order the part to fix it? Thank you, Louis
