Dryer Won't Shut Off When Opened.

Estate by whirlpool mod #eed4100wq.  I think that there is something wrong with the door switch as it does not feel like it is making contact. I think that it might be stuck as the little lever moves back and forth freely. I need to know how to get at the switch. Does the top pop off?
