I Have An Ice Maker In My Freezer That For Some Reason Will Not Stop Making Ice
I have an ice maker in my freezer that for some reason will not stop making ice when the bin level bar indicates the bin is full. The Model: W8RXNGMWQ00 Serial Number: VSY3983321. I have proped the bar in the upward position, but it still makes ice... I don't mind it make ice, but it is gettting annoying to have to keep dumping the bin in the sink every day... I removed the bin bar when it finally fell off.

the "Bin Bar" is suppose to activate the switch inside the ice maker which is suppose to turn off the process of making ice. Depending on your experience level in doing repairs, you may need a tech to come out and look at the switch that the bar is connected to as it obviously is not working properly. If you are experienced you can turn off the water valve and remove the ice maker assembly to see if there might be something blocking the switch from functioning properly (Water frozen over the switch preventing the switch from being pressed or released, bar may be bent and now allowing the switch to fully activate the stop process for the ice maker).
