Unit Will Not Turn On. I Replaced The Power Cord And It Still Will Not Power On.
I have it plugged in as well as hooked up to the usb port on the front of the computer.

Hi there.
I'm sorry to hear about your issue with the drive. In order to get it recognized by the computer you can try to plug it in a different USB port, if possible one at the back of your system. If it is still not recognized connect the external to a different computer - that way you'll see if the problem is with the drive itself, or with the ports of the computer. Hopefully it will appear and you'll be able to access your files.
However, if it's still not accessible, you can check the drive's health by running a test on it with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. This is the manufacturer's diagnostic tool, so if there are any errors or bad sectors on the device it will find them, and if you run an extended test it will try to fix them as well. Lastly, if the drive is not recognized in any system, and/or the recommended software shows "fail" status, then the best thing you can do in order to retrieve your data is to consult with a data recovery company.
