Viking Downdraft Model Vipr161ss
My down draft will not raise and switch on. The external blower has been tested and works. What do I need to do?

I had the same problem. Some people were able to solve the problem by replacing the on/off switch that is glued to the end of the frame. The switch uses a flexible circuit card to connect the switch to a circuit board inside the frame.
I tried replacing just the switch, but it did not solve my problem. I next purchased a replacement circuit board and this solved my problem. I am not an electronics guy, so I am unable to say what may have failed on the circuit board and why. It has been working fine now for about a year.
