I Was Charged One Fee For An Uber Ride Then Charged A Higher Rate

A friend and I shared an Uber ride in Virginia Beach , Va yesterday afternoon. She was picked up first at her home and then they picked me up and we went to our destination. On the way home I called Uber we took her home and then the driver dropped me off. My girlfriend was charged $14.30 and my account was charged $14.30 then charged $19.32 and credited the $14.30. I'm not happy about the higher rate charge when we traveled the exact same distance within a 4 hour time frame. I want a refund!!! Please help!!

The details of your complaint are hard to follow. (Sorry.) You can go to https://help.uber.com/h/d2d43bbc-f4bb-4882-b8bb-4bd8acf03a9d for an explanation of how Uber's fares are calculated. (I have to admit that the explanation there could also be a lot clearer.) To get a response from Uber, go to https://help.uber.com/h/d9103750-27ad-413f-83a7-48f2673436cb. If the matter is not resolved promptly you should file a dispute with your bank. You can also complain to the district attorney for San Francisco County, at 415-551-9595. Good luck!
